I never knew 'twould hurt so much to love. Bless her, O Lord my God, bless her and give her Thy wisdom, and may she be kept safe and secure, pure and happy. Forgive her of all her sins, forgive her of everything, and give her the gift of Thy Spirit, that she might be whole again. And take no notice of me, Lord, account me not: help me to help her, help me to make her glad, but take no notice of mine own gladness, but make me rather a tool of Thy bidding, O Lord. And above all, keep her from further sin, especially where the risk is greatest, where the pressures of the heart may bring all to ruin. No matter what the cost to me, no matter what pain, what suffering and torture, mental and physical, that Thou wouldst bring upon me, bless Thou her, cursing me if that is the cost. I swear this as an oath, a solemn vow in Thy holy presence, that I will take whatever hardships Thou wouldst give me, pain and torture unbearable, death or worse, if she is thereby to be kept safe, pure, and happy, and free from sin. I curse myself that she might be blessed. So be it, Amen. | | Monday, December 27th, 2004 | | 9:20 pm |
See, this is the difference between my parents.
Mom: Isn't it great that grandma gave you that harmonica, Jacob? Me: Yeah! Now I don't have to buy one... Mom: Mmmhmm! Me: ...so instead I can get myself a new knife, or an axe, or maybe even a machete- or I could save up for a shotgun! *long pause* Mom: I'm not gonna comment on that. ~~~~~~~ Dad: I need to get Jacob a gun. Jacob: Cool! David: Well, why can't I have a gun? Dad: Because you're eleven. You'll get one when you're older. | | Friday, December 24th, 2004 | | 9:02 am |

Excerpt from the novel I'm writing
Upon a tall hill covered in concealing trees there stood a mighty gray wolf looking out into the valley that opened up below. This vale he knew well; it was called Klaisûth in his own language: the Valley of the Trolls. But it seemed now that the name would soon have to change, for he could see no troll within it- or at least none living. His keen eyes, the eyes of a tracker, caught sight of many crushed and trampled bodies that seemed to be of trolls, though they were so beaten and mutilated that he could hardly tell. The buildings of the village, flimsily built to begin with and little better than tents, had all been razed to the ground, and food, wine, and valuables lay scattered and spilt in the streets. In the center of the ruin, he saw, a black war-banner had been set: sable as night with an ice-blue dragon in the center, and some unclean symbol above. The wolf scowled at this image, then wheeling around ran back through the woods at a speed no man could equal. After a time he came to a large cluster of tents and campfires. Many Elvish men stood around the fires, but they took no notice of him. Yet as he ran through the camp a strange thing happened: he began to run upright, and his fur and skin seemed to almost melt off of him; the portions of his body shrunk and enlarged as needed, making no sound, until there no longer ran a wolf, but rather a man, carrying a wolfskin at his side. He slowed, and walked towards a tall man that stood in the center of the camp, before the greatest fire. “Completely destroyed, captain.” he then said. “None left alive. The goblins have made skillful slaughter here.” (- To Be A King, Chapter VII)

Happy Birthday Sammy!
Today is sammy (little brother)'s birthday! Yay! Everyone say happy birthday to him! ...NOW. *readies whip* In other news, I've been reaidng Thomas Aquinas' Summa Theologica XX (because that's theo nly one my dad found). In Latin. His Latin is scary; it took me half an hour to get through just several pages! And I have to keep glancing over at the English translation... *highly embarrassed* | | Saturday, October 16th, 2004 | | 12:04 am |

Excerpts from a Most Enlightening Conversation
GrundlingGoomba: Oh, did I tell you about my new life goal? Fiery Covenant: oh, boy, not another one... GrundlingGoomba: LOL GrundlingGoomba: It is.... GrundlingGoomba: To found at least one new religion every day for the rest of my life. Fiery Covenant: now that would be a good quote GrundlingGoomba: lol, ja Fiery Covenant: yeah! Fiery Covenant: random religion-founders! GrundlingGoomba: I founded three yesterday! And one's already a highly sophisticated faith. We've already stoned two people for blasphemy! GrundlingGoomba: (well, penciled, but there weren't any stones on hand) Fiery Covenant: now that's class Fiery Covenant: I'm actually working out the outlines for a real new religion GrundlingGoomba: woah Fiery Covenant: Well, just another subdivision of Christianity, but yeah... Fiery Covenant: so sort of a demi-religion GrundlingGoomba: c ool GrundlingGoomba: denomination? GrundlingGoomba: sect? Fiery Covenant: yeah Fiery Covenant: what you said Fiery Covenant: anyway, it says that Earth is Heaven GrundlingGoomba: (sect is a coooler word, but I used denomination because whenever I say sect out loud it sounds like sex) Fiery Covenant: and that human beings are angels Fiery Covenant: ah GrundlingGoomba: woah Fiery Covenant: and so evil humans are fallen angels GrundlingGoomba: interesting Fiery Covenant: but they can return to grace GrundlingGoomba: literally, or metaphorically? GrundlingGoomba: @rest, not @return to grace Fiery Covenant: right Fiery Covenant: I dunno... Fiery Covenant: hmm... Fiery Covenant: more literally, I think GrundlingGoomba: interesting Fiery Covenant: I also came up with a neat idea Fiery Covenant: Triune Communion Fiery Covenant: three sips of wine Fiery Covenant: one for the father Fiery Covenant: one for the son Fiery Covenant: one for the holy ghost GrundlingGoomba: cool Fiery Covenant: ;-) Fiery Covenant: :-D Fiery Covenant: thrice as much wine GrundlingGoomba: LOL GrundlingGoomba: w00t! GrundlingGoomba: why not make it gulps? GrundlingGoomba: It symbolizes, uh... Fiery Covenant: they can be GrundlingGoomba: prosperity? Fiery Covenant: yeah! GrundlingGoomba: Or maybe bottles, then! Fiery Covenant: er... no GrundlingGoomba: And make it whiskey, as a metaphor of, ah... GrundlingGoomba: the common people! Fiery Covenant: and because it's the water of life! GrundlingGoomba: Yeah! GrundlingGoomba: Like Jesus! Fiery Covenant: yeah! Fiery Covenant: This is getting kinda silly! GrundlingGoomba: No its not! GrundlingGoomba: Jesusiswhiskeyism! Fiery Covenant: I don't have a name yet GrundlingGoomba: or just Whiskeyism Fiery Covenant: Nah, that sounds too much like Whiskeypalianism, which was a Southern Baptist nickname for Episcopalianism Fiery Covenant: seriously GrundlingGoomba: O.o Fiery Covenant: those crazy baptists... Fiery Covenant: anyway, I think it should be wine still Fiery Covenant: not whiskey GrundlingGoomba: okay GrundlingGoomba: lol Fiery Covenant: but we can baptise with whiskey GrundlingGoomba: O.O Fiery Covenant: because... uh... Fiery Covenant: oh, I got it! Fiery Covenant: Because on earth, we're baptised with water, but in heaven we're baptised with fire GrundlingGoomba: We're being baptized in the water of life? GrundlingGoomba: oh! Fiery Covenant: and whiskey is directly in between! GrundlingGoomba: and earth is heaven... so... GrundlingGoomba: firewater... so... GrundlingGoomba: AWESOME. Fiery Covenant: lol Fiery Covenant: yeah, I've always thought there isn't enough alcohol in Christianity nowadays ~~~ Fiery Covenant: we've just invented a new art form Fiery Covenant: founding religions Fiery Covenant: we're like the J.R.R. Tolkiens of theology GrundlingGoomba: ooh GrundlingGoomba: lol GrundlingGoomba: rockin Fiery Covenant: lol GrundlingGoomba: I wonder how many religions I'm a member of... Fiery Covenant: many GrundlingGoomba: yeah Fiery Covenant: hey, you've already founded more religions than Mohammed GrundlingGoomba: woah! Fiery Covenant: you can brag about that GrundlingGoomba: Wait, he only founded one! Fiery Covenant: exactly! GrundlingGoomba: LOL | | Sunday, September 26th, 2004 | | 5:42 pm |

Gonardoi
Today I had an awesome idea for Gonardoi nominal syntax. Way it works is this. You know how some languages put nominal modifiers after the nouns, some before? So since Gonardoi is a case lang, and many of the cases act as modifiers, a typical noun would go like this (x = modifier, X = noun, O = main noun): either xXxxXxxxXxxO or OxxXxxxXxxXx. Wel, I had another idea, where instead of that sort of arrangement, the modifiers would proceed from the center of the noun: adjectives before, modificational nouns after, so something like xxXxxXOXxxxXx. See what I mean? Not sure if I'll follow through tho. Also there's the question of adpositions, if I add any. Hmm. | | Tuesday, September 21st, 2004 | | 5:01 pm |
Excerpt from TBAK
Arach stood there for a moment, bewildered, but then collected himself and sat down by the celethal. He stayed there for a moment, taking everything in, trying to figure out exactly what had happened to him. Clearly he had stumbled into some great secret- Laig-ath-Tyl was always known as a strange place- magical, even- but this place, this Adhariavlad as that strange man had called it- this was something different. It was beyond magic. There was indeed something divine about the land- something in the slowly drifting mists, thick and brooding like thunderheads yet pale as the sea-foam; in the strange, haunting cries from far away; in the barely-espied birds fluttering from treetop to treetop; in the whispers of the trees… Arach once again became aware of their strange and secret chantings, speech and music all at once, disturbingly hypnotic. He felt as if they had been conversing all the time, but like rain upon the walls and window he did not notice it until now. Now he was overwhelmed by it- and yet it was subtle; he felt himself not forced into their trance, but drawn into it- willingly it seemed. He became caught immovably in the music of the tree-spirits: all around him he heard nothing but their strange words, which he understood not, and yet did. Spells and enchantments they seemed to him, or would have had he the capacity of thought; for he began to see visions and mighty portents, and to feel strange movements and forebodings in his spirit. He saw a host of great beasts like lions, and above them flew an Eagle, larger than any of the beasts. They were white as newfallen snow, and in their eyes was the light of joy and youth coupled with the wisdom of eld- yet the Eagle was whiter, and his eyes were brighter and older. He ruled them, and they were glad. But one of the beasts became large and gluttonous with prosperity, and essayed to challenge the Eagle- thus became it black and hideous, most fearsome of dragons; and the Eagle cast it forth into darkness. Yet some others of the beasts followed the Dragon, and as they came before him he swallowed them up, and soon after vomited forth a multitude of black snakes, nigh as hideous as he. These went forth into the dark lands without, and settled themselves in the dark places and the deep, and the lands of ice and fire, and the caves and dungeons and mountaintops, and the black forests. Then there came a halt in the vision, and Arach saw then two snakes, one black and one white, and between them a den of mice. The black snake essayed to come upon the den and devour the creatures within; but the white snake rushed to their salvation, and wrestled with its adversary for many days and nights, until it was tired and covered in gore; but the black snake still had but a few wounds. So the white snake faltered, and in exhaustion and inattention exposed its neck, and the black came close to biting it. But at that moment the Eagle came down like lightning from the heavens and caught the black one in its talons, and cast it into the air, and it landed far away. Then the Eagle healed the wounds of the white snake, and the serpent took to ruling the mice, and they felt safe before it. But after a time it became ravenous, and took to eating some of the mice; and at this time black snakes came into the land, and all was in terror. Then as Arach beheld an arrow came out from he knew not where, and the white snake was pierced, and fled far away. Then this vision faded. Now Arach saw a multitude of visions, each coming quick after the other, and some he but barely saw, and knew not what they were. He saw first Falasa, to whom he had been entrusted as guide, being led in humiliation by goblins from the North. Next moment he saw the same alone- or was another man there?- wandering through a dark forest, bewilderment on his face. A sword that Arach had never seen was at his side. Then it was night, and the monastery was burning, and the stars shone not. Then was Falasa again seen, now fleeing through the hills, tears in his eyes, the sword no longer beside him. Then there was a strange woman, then a man clad in wolfskin, then many other visions of unknown people and realms. Then he saw himself, and Falasa beside him- yet the latter soon fell to the ground, and blood was on his face and his hands, and Arach was holding- No! Then the vision faded, and Arach was again in the waking world, exhausted and confused. What do they mean? he wondered. He arose and paced beside the celethal, unable to think clearly. Yet as he did so a voice seemed to speak above him, like the whispers of the trees and yet different: i dass ngwalor i Hith Gloss, it said: the arrow shall slay the White Snake… That's an excerpt from TBAK. The scene isn't finished, but tell me waht you think. I'm not really sure I'm gonna include it, but yeah. | | Saturday, September 18th, 2004 | | 1:53 pm |

Whimz is prom queen. I just find that amazingly hilarious. Umberto Eco: The Name of the Rose. You are a mystery novel dealing with theology, especially with catholic vs liberal issues. You search wisdom and knowledge endlessly, feeling that learning is essential in life. Which literature classic are you? brought to you by QuizillaInteresting. Looks like a cool book too. | | Wednesday, September 15th, 2004 | | 2:17 pm |
Some Common Relanian roots and their derivations
This was copied from MS Word, so it's probably really uglyful, but at least it's readable, and I'm too lazy to change it. (NOTE: ă is used throughout as a compensation for the lack of a haček-plus-macron diacritic on MS Word. ¤ denotes an irregular form.)
